Jagged Trading™ – Learning How to Trade

Where did I learn to trade (successfully)? I have learned largely on my own. I opened brokerage accounts a few times over the last 20 years – but never seriously. I played around and wanted to trade quickly (shorter term trades) but I did not have the appropriate type of account or the extra money to invest, so I closed the accounts after only a few trades.

Over my career most of which was in a 3+ billion dollar world-class consumer products company, I learned a lot about accounting, finance, sales, metrics tracking, marketing, product development, logistics, purchasing, manufacturing, business plans etc. I learned virtually everything that a successful business needs. A college degree is a basic foundation, but 25+ years of world-class business experience is priceless.

About 4 years ago, now with some spare money in my savings account and some time on my hands, I opened a Charles Schwab brokerage account. I have been trading (and learning) 5 days/week since then. I have been very successful. Sure there were a few small mistakes – but that is how you learn. Every week I improve my skills to profitably trade. I still trade every day the market is open, and I plan to do so for many years to come.
